At some point, every parent realizes that they can’t control everything and can’t produce a lifetime of happy endings for their children. But rather than throwing up hands in defeat, a wise parent gets on their knees and seeks the wisdom and help of God: the one who created your child, and loves them even more than you do (it’s true!). Here are some specific ways you can pray for your child:


1.  Pray for Faith
I pray that ______ will love the Lord with all of their heart, soul and mind and that they would love their neighbor as themselves.


2. Pray for Growth
I pray that _______ would grow in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and man.


3.  Pray for Friendships
I pray that you will surround _______ with companions of character—friends that love at all times, even through adversity.


4. Pray for a Future
I pray that you would give _____ a plan for a future of hope and prosperity.


5. Pray for Character
I pray that you would teach _____ to be loving, joyful, peaceful, patient, kind, good,
gentle, faithful, and self-controlled.


6. Pray for Safety
I pray that you will protect ______ from harm and disaster. I pray that you will command
your angels to guard _______ in all his/her ways.


7. Pray for Joy and Peace
I pray that the light of Your face would shine down on ________ and fill his/her heart with joy.
I pray that _______ would lie down and sleep in peace.


8. Pray for Strength Against Temptation
I pray for _______ to be alert and discerning, able to resist temptation, standing firm and
confident in his/her faith.


9. Pray for Humility
I pray that _______ will be humble and listen to his/her parents, teachers and coaches.
Keep him/her from rebellious thoughts and ways.


10.  Pray for a Heart of Service
I pray for ______ to be motivated to serve and work wholeheartedly as if he/she was serving
and working for You.
