Hardee County Emergency Management encourages residents to be prepared this hurricane season by taking steps to be ready and reduce their risk of damage. Hardee County can help residents prepare for the upcoming storm season during the 6th Annual Health, Safety and Hurricane Expo on Saturday June 1, 2019 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Hardee County Agri-Civic Center. You won’t want to miss this! The free event will offer preparedness information and items. Attendees will learn from emergency response and recovery experts from the National Weather Service, Fox 13 News, and WFLA News Channel 8. Representatives will answer questions and provide information on how to survive and deal with floods, high wind damage and property loss. Participants will also learn how to track storms, pack a disaster kit, perform compression-only CPR and prepare an emergency plan for them and their pets. There will also be information on had from Health Agencies in our Community to help with your health and how to prepare during the storm. This is for the entire community. Activities for adults and children, educational displays, safety demonstrations, and emergency vehicle displays. Hurricane season begins June 1 and ends November 30, 2019.
