Description:

The main responsibility of the Food Service Associate at Sprint Foods is to learn and follow daily preparations, processes and procedures within the kitchen and foodservice areas of the store as they relate to Sprint Foods policy, health codes, food preparation and presentation, food safety, food storage and food handling. At the store managers discretion, this position will be crossed trained in all aspects of convenience store duties, procedures, processes and operations. Primary Responsibilities: • Follow all kitchen and foodservice policies and procedures as required by Sprint and store manager • Prepare and follow recipes, portioning and food presentations according to current menu documentation and guidelines for all current foodservice programs (this can include but is not limited to fresh bakery case; cold and hot grab and go; impulse sales area) • Perform kitchen duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to, shift set up and prep; shift tear down; food prep and cooking; food temperature levels, maintaining and documenting; cleaning • Maintain proper inventory control, including but not limited to, date rotation and waste recording for spoilage/out of dates; inventory organization within all foodservice storage areas, this includes ambient, cooler, and freezer areas • Responsible for following food safety, including processes, procedures and guidelines from Federal, State, and Sprint Foods policies, relating to but not limited to food handling, temperatures and health code regulations • Adhere to personal hygiene code regulations as provided by Sprint Foods and store manager • Cleaning all foodservice areas and equipment by following cleaning schedules and task lists as provided This includes but is not limited to: • All surface area cleaning and sanitizing; sweeping; mopping; washing and sanitizing dishes; area cleaning including racks and storage areas; trash collection and disposal; equipment tear down and cleaning (following all manufacturer guidelines for equipment safety, cleaning and operation) • Adhere to all guidelines/operating manuals as well as cleaning procedures/schedules for all foodservice equipment • Always follow manufacturer and/or Sprint user manuals when operating or cleaning equipment to prevent accidents and unnecessary repairs due to misuse or abuse of equipment


Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent, prefer minimum 6 months of foodservice related experience, ServSafe Food Handler Certified preferred • May be required to take and pass the ServSafe Food Handler course within 6 months of hire date • Good communication skills both verbal and written • Self-motivated and focused, ability to quickly learn and retain multiple recipes and prep procedures • Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced, continually changing environment • Positive and professional attitude with a strong work ethic and teamwork attitude • Available to work any day/shift, work can include variable hours, weekends and holidays • Tasks are performed in all areas inside and outside of the store and can include exposure to extreme temperatures (both hot and cold), vapors/fumes, noise and household chemicals for routinely short periods and occasionally longer periods. • Physical demands can require frequent standing and walking entire shift; occasional to frequent bending, stooping or crouching; frequent lifting/carrying of up to 50 pounds; occasional climbing and descending ladders. • Valid state driver’s license • Background check • Vehicle with valid vehicle insurance • Home or cell phone • EEO Employer and
