Schedule Full time/40 hours; 4 days/10-hour per shift (days can vary depending on department needs) Shift available: 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM or 2:00 PM to 12:00 AM Qualifications High School Diploma or GED equivalent Must be 21 years of age or older Ability to read, write and speak English, multilingual preferred. Minimum of one (1)) years experiences working with youth Valid Driver’s License and at least one year of U.S. driving experience Proof of Immunizations record, containing: 2 doses- Varicella 2 doses- MMR 1 dose- Tdap 1 dose- Influenza (yearly) Successful completion of background check and drug screen General Duties: Assist the children/youth in their cottage and in their adjustment to group living without weakening their ties to their natural families or significant others in the child/youth's life. Participate in the development of unit activities, life skill exercises, recreational activities, and daily routines while establishing professional boundaries that create a positive atmosphere conducive to growth and development. Provide assistance with the preparation of meals according to the approved commissary menu. In addition, provide for the health and clothing needs of each resident. This may include distribution of medications and proper documentation of medication. Plan and provide transportation to various functions and activities that may include, but are not limited to, court/legal appointments, meals out, medical appointments, etc. Assist with preparing residents for airline travel, accompanying residents to the airport as needed, and accompanying residents on fly-outs. Responsible for documentation according to agency policy, i.e., daily progress notes, incident reports, e-mail communication, and is familiar with the computer resources in the staff office. Demonstrate an understanding of trauma-informed practices and therapeutic intervention techniques as evidenced by contributions to preventing and managing challenging behaviors. Maintain the order, safety, cleanliness of the facility, housekeeping, and adequate supervision of residents at all times. Provide mandatory on-call coverage as required.
