SUMMARY: As a member of the Development Team, the Development Officer reports to the Chief of Development and is responsible for attracting donors, strengthening relationships, and increasing giving levels. As an integral part of the fundraising team, the Development Officer will identify, cultivate, solicit, steward, and expand relationships between the organization and its donors at all levels – with a particular focus on increasing funds raised from donors and prospects of $1,000 or greater. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (These essential job functions are not to be construed as a complete statement of all duties performed. Nothing in this job description restricts management’s rights to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at this time) Identifies, cultivates, solicits, and stewards major gift donors and prospects including individuals, corporations, and/or foundations, through visits and other forms of direct personal contact in accordance with performance targets. Manage a portfolio of approximately 150 – 200 donors and achieves performance targets on calls, proposals, solicitations, and stewardship. Leverages donor pipeline through volunteerism, events, in-kind donation drives, and fundraising events to retain and grow donor giving levels. Establishes and maintains collaborative working relationships with the Management Team, development colleagues, and appropriate board members and/or other constituents to maximize total gift revenue, plan solicitation strategies, and leverage joint solicitation efforts. Research and analyze individual donors and prospects in order to develop strategies for gift growth and acquisition – including post event follow up and conversion. Research, write, edit, and/or oversees the preparation of persuasive, accurate, and grammatically and syntactically correct solicitations, proposals, case statements, reports, correspondence, and other development-related communication materials in support of the unit's fund-raising activities Maintain integrity of donor database (Bloomerang) as it relates to donor relations prospect file. Represent SVdP CARES in the community and to other local, statewide, and national organizations as directed. Assist with events as assigned. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications:

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these functions.) · Expertise in relationship management · Able to speak, write and understand English · Possess proficiency in Microsoft Office, and cloud-based computing · Must be sensitive to and respect cultural diversity amongst clients, staff and volunteers and able to work with diverse racial, ethnic and economic groups · Flexible work schedule including evenings, nights, weekends and holidays · Ability to set appropriate limits, work under deadlines and multi-task · Ability to organize, prioritize, and deliver results · Excellent communication and listening skills · Possess strong work ethics · Successfully pass Law Enforcement background screening · Valid Florida driver’s license, and reliable transportation · Participate in Agency Performance Quality Improvement (PQI) program and Accreditation/ Reaccreditation process · Adherence to the highest ethical standards, personally and professionally · A high level of openness and willingness to receive direction and feedback from supervisor, and to learn new skills to improve job performance · Evidence of deep alignment with and passion for St. Vincent de Paul CARES Mission and Values EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: (Pending on position and if prior to hire is approved by Chief Executive Officer, a comparable amount of training, education or experience may be substituted for the minimum education qualifications). · This position requires a bachelor’s/4-year college degree and minimum of 4 or more years of related sales and or fundraising experience.
