Looking for FULL TIME/PART TIME 2nd and 3rd shift Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Responsibilities/Qualifications: Previous experience as a certified nursing assistant (CNA) is desirable but not required. A genuine compassion for the elderly and disabled. Energetic in promoting team spirit. Is able to work independently without direct supervision by following all facility procedures and guidelines and using good judgment and common sense. Maintains independence, safety and dignity of all elders at all times. Respectfully interacts with all elders, family members, visitors and team members. Maintains a positive customer service relationship practicing honesty and integrity in all aspects of your job performance. Maintains a positive, pleasant manner at all times with the realization that your work environment can be stressful and demanding. Stress should be managed in a constructive manner and assistance should be accessed through your immediate supervisor. At this facility we maintain a home like atmosphere but it is important that you refrain from discussing personal issues with the elders, family members and team members. Assists with personal care of elders, including but not limited to bathing, dressing, oral hygiene, shaving, toileting, ambulating and transfers. Encourages and assists elders to meals and to activities as necessary. Ability to accurately take and record vital signs. Reads, writes and is able to verbalize understanding of written documentation, instructions, medical records and all policies, procedures and emergency information manuals of the facility. Capable of effectively communicating with residents and team members. Keeps elders environment safe by picking up unsafe items on floor and mopping spills, positioning call cords within elders reach, removing all broken or hazardous objects from common areas and the and the elders room, maintaining full knowledge of safety alarms and co-operating with all safety policies and procedures. Follows and understands infection control policies and procedures. Must be able to stand, walk, stoop, bend and lift most of their assigned shift. Handles and manipulated wheelchair elders (weighing up to 250 lbs) and is able to perform one person transfer of elders utilizing proper lifting techniques to avoid injury. Maintains confidentiality of elders personal information in and out of the facility. Protects and supports elders rights. Promptly responds to call lights and telephone as needed. Maintains a professional appearance by dressing in required uniform. Personal cleanliness is a requirement for both you and the resident for optimal health and well being.
