ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Major responsibilities will include: Follow-up on submitted invoices to ensure prompt and timely reimbursement Accurate and timely claims submission and resubmission to appropriate parties Review, verify and track payments/denials from appropriate parties in the billing system Identify problematic accounts and enter discrepancies into tracking spreadsheet Contact clients to obtain or request additional information necessary for payment reimbursement Adhere to company policies, including attendance and punctuality Adhere to confidentiality (HIPAA) requirements Maintain confidentiality of patient and proprietary information Other duties may be assigned


Required Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of experience working in a medical billing/coding capacity in a Healthcare environment Minimum of two (2) years of experience in an Accounts Receivable role in a Healthcare environment Required Knowledge: Billing to Insurance Carriers ICD-9 codes and CPT code terminology Processing Insurance claims Intermediate level functions of Excel Required Skills: Proven follow-up and research skills Excellent customer service skills Strong analytical and problem solving skills Excellent attention to detail, time management skills and ability to meet deadlines Positive attitude and ability to handle highly confidential information Ability to reflect positive attitude and disciplined work ethic Ability to work independently and on a team High energy level Demonstrated experience in being a self-starter Ability to deal with internal/external customers with enthusiasm and professionalism Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills Ability to multi-task Ability to work in a fast paced environment Ability to be flexible and change with the needs of the organization
