Description:
The Assistant Finance Director (AFD) is the City's Chief Accounting Officer and performs complex accounting and financial work involving the development, execution and control of the Finance Department’s policies, procedures, and practices. The AFD works under the general supervision of the Finance Director, who is the City’s CFO, and directly supervises three professional staff and nine indirect positions. HIRING RANGE: $79,518.40 - $91,446.16 Additional Compensation/Benefits: - Additional $7,400 employee benefit dollars; the unused balance of which can be kept as taxable income - Defined Contribution Plan 401(a) with a generous 6% City match - Benefits also include 12 paid leave days and 24 hour full access to City fitness center. Continuous learning is supported through tuition reimbursement and professional development opportunities. - May receive relocation assistance for candidates outside Pinellas, Pasco, Hillsborough, or Manatee counties.
Qualifications:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience: • Bachelor's degree with a major in Accounting and five (5) years progressively responsible accounting experience with automated accounting systems, including two (2) years of governmental accounting and or auditing experience • Three (3) years of supervisory experience (professional and support staff) • Valid Driver's License
