Where Are You God?

Have you ever said, “Where are you, God?”

I have.

Where Are You GodA few weeks ago, I was sitting with my sweet Mom at the nursing home.  She enjoys sitting on the front porch area, soaking up the sunshine.  Every visit is both precious and bittersweet.  I treasure my Mom, and it hurts my heart deeply to see here there.

As we sat, I prayed in my heart, “God, this is so hard.  How can we go on?  Where are you?”

As I looked up at the blue sky, somehow the Lord whispered in my heart, “I am carrying you.”

Those words, “I am carrying you,” made all the difference to me.  To think that Jesus is carrying us through this difficult season brought so much comfort and peace to my heart.

The next day, I came upon a verse about God promising to carry us:

“I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.”  -Isaiah 46:4

If you are in a dark valley today, find peace in knowing that God is carrying you.  He won’t let you fall.  He will forge a way through seemingly impossible situations.  He will fight for you.  He will walk through the fire, and hold you close.

Whatever the trial, whatever the heartbreak, God is with you. He is close.

You are not alone.
